The Buzz About Grocery Outlet and a Giveaway!

A few weeks ago I attended the grand opening of Grocery Outlet Bargain Market’s new location in El Cajon, CA. It was a festive event and, of course, there were a lot of great deals in store. I had my kids and tow and they took over my camera when I told them to be a “reporter” and take photos of what would be important to my readers. The result (hence, the fuzziness)…

Yes, my kids like their fruits and sweets. (It’s probably because we limit their amount of sugar.)

But aside from sweets they had some great bargains. I picked up some ingredients for a salad and dessert that I was bringing to a potluck. I was pleasantly surprised when it came under $10! With that, I was able to make two mango tarts and a mandarin orange spinach salad to serve ten people.  You can really stretch your dollar here!

GO_Goodies

I was given some goodies to take home and calculated that all these items combined are under $20! Yes, you can even buy organic at a great price.

Ever since I met Mark and Sherry I’ve been visiting my local Grocery Outlet in Casa de Oro more frequently. A few weeks ago I was in a hurry to bring snacks to a music rehearsal and grabbed a few items from their store. My friend, Anne, who was hosting the rehearsal started raving about Grocery Outlet and how friendly everyone is at the Casa de Oro location. She shared her “bargain stories” about how she would tip off her brother (and vice versa) about the latest deals. She also mentioned how friendly everyone is over there and that she loved the music they play overhead. (I admit, it does make you want to dance.) Anne even served items that she purchased at the store in addition to what I brought!

I think we pretty much sold the others on checking out the store.

Last week before I left for my retreat, again, I was in a hurry to buy some snacks. (It seems like a common occurrence, lately.) As I was leaving, Sherry stopped me and asked if I would like to try some of Dudley’s Date Nut Raisin Bread. She must have been a mind reader because that is my  favorite Dudley’s bread. Growing up, every time we took the 1 hour trek to Julian my family would make sure to stop by Dudley’s to get their Date Nut Raisin bread and hot apple cider. So of course, I said, “yes” to the bread and Sherry placed it in my bag. It was coincidental that I was heading to Julian for my retreat that day. This time, I didn’t have to stop by Dudley’s since I got my fix and know that it’s available at Grocery Outlet!

If you haven’t tried Grocery Outlet, here’s your chance. Or, if you are already big fan of Grocery Outlet this will help you with your monthly savings! I’m giving away a $25 gift card to one lucky reader. Just leave comment below and let me know what you’d buy at Grocery Outlet.

  1. I’d get some greek yogurt (one of my favorite staples I get from GO) and also see if they have my favorite mozzerrella, which they sometimes do!

  2. We love Grocery Outlet! I would buy organic items – I am always looking for good prices on organic snacks for our kiddies!
